CFB DFS Tools are Here!
October 13, 2020 · Mat Houchens · CFB
If you're a patron supporter of AMF, you'll have early access to our new college football (CFB) DFS tools we just launched! Eventually, these tools will be free to all but as we stated, supporting us has its perks such as early access to new tools like these.
Adjusted % Stats
Before we get into all the different views of CFB stats we have available, you'll see ADJ on a few columns of stats that are % based. This is because with CFB, at least right now, we don't have snap information and can only guess if they played a game based on if they accrued stats.
This is obviously far from perfect way to let you know if they played a game. With NFL we know if someone was active or not more easily and thus can reflect % based stats to show their impact when on the field. Our decision for CFB was to show you both overall and adjusted % so you can get full context and make your own determination of what the actual games played should be. You can view more detail about the week by week in the team trends section.
For guys that have stats for every game they've played you'll see the same % in both columns. This is a quick indicator that they've played every game.
Missing Players and Data
We believe we've ironed out all the missing players from our data grids but if you see something wonky with stats or someone not showing up, please report it.
CFB Receiving Stats
The CFB receiving stats grid is similar to our NFL receiving stats grid. Unfortunately, we don't have some of the context we do in NFL play by play data so things like air yards, aDOT, WOPR, etc. aren't available for us. We still felt the information we were able to obtain was worthwhile to put together for you to more easily see a breakdown of how passing stats are accumulated. You can still use the filters to get to a specific team, player, position or view based on stat filters.
CFB Rushing Stats
The CFB rushing stats grid is identical to our NFL rushing stats. We've added ATT/GM to the CFB grid and will look to do that for NFL as well.
CFB Team Trends
Team Trends for CFB is the same as NFL. We're working on building out more in this view as it's a great way to break down week by week trends for teams.
Become a Patron
We release early access to tools like this to our supporters as a way of thanking them. In addition, there are a lot of other features you get when you become a patron.
